How to Grow Your Own Food: Spotlight Series

These family classes are filled with engaging activities for kids and packed with practical information for parents.

Each class focuses on the specific needs of a few select vegetables or fruits. Learn the tips and tricks for success!

Let’s Get Growing

Kids will learn and practice what it takes to grow a successful vegetable garden. Everyone will get the chance to plant vegetable seeds that they can take home to start their very own garden. Recommended for ages 5-12.

Topics include: Planning and Design, Garden Tools, Preparing the Garden Bed, Planting Seeds, Tending Your Garden

Coming in April


Seed Starting Workshop

This workshop provides all the supplies and directions you need to start your seedlings indoors. Fill up your seed tray with a variety of vegetable and flower seeds. Recommended for all ages.

Bug Busters

Come and explore how insects are essential for a healthy garden. Kids will learn about pollinators and beneficial insects. Each child will receive their own bug catcher kit and will create a “bug hotel” to hang in their own garden. Recommended for ages 3-10.

Coming in May


Backyard Birds of Colorado

In this interactive class, kids will learn about birds that are common to spot in Colorado and discover how to attract birds to their own backyard. Each child will make a bird feeder and create a mix of seeds for the birds they want to visit. Recommended for ages 4-12.
